New clients are required to schedule an evaluation before training services.
Service Description
A dog training evaluation is the first step in creating an effective training plan tailored to your dog’s individual needs. I visit you and your dog in your home or local environment to understand how they respond to everyday situations, stimuli, and any challenges they may be struggling with. During the evaluation, I observe your dog’s reactions, note behavioural patterns, and identify environmental factors contributing to the issues you’re experiencing. We discuss important details such as routines, quirks, care instructions, allergies, and any unwanted behaviours. You’ll have the chance to explain what you’ve already tried, what has or hasn’t worked, and what your goals are moving forward. The evaluation also covers your dog’s living environment, containment setup, daily structure, and any relevant veterinary considerations. This helps build a full picture of your dog’s needs and ensures the training plan is realistic, safe, and suited to your lifestyle. A key part of the process is helping you understand your dog’s behaviour, identify any skill gaps, and clarify the outcomes you want to achieve. Next Steps, Building Your Dog’s Training Plan: After your evaluation, I take everything we discussed, your dog’s reactions, triggers, routines, and goals, and build a tailored training plan that fits your dog and your lifestyle. You’ll also receive a full copy of your evaluation notes, observations, and recommendations so you can refer back anytime. Step‑by‑Step Homework and Support: I don’t expect new clients to remember everything from a session. Each session comes with clear follow‑up support so you can keep learning between visits. You’ll receive: Session summaries, a written breakdown of what we covered and the key takeaways. Video link, footage from your session so you can re watch timing, handling, and exercises. Programme link and homework plan, step‑by‑step tasks to practise until the next session, designed to build consistency and confidence. All of this is stored in your personal programme links, making it easy to stay organised and track progress. Between Sessions: Your focus is simple: follow the homework, watch the videos when you need a refresher, and keep the structure consistent. My job is to make each step achievable and tailored to your dog, keeping progress steady without overwhelm.
Cancellation Policy
To ensure the smooth operation of BigpawsSmallpawsOutdoors, clients may cancel or reschedule this service at any time, provided at least 24 hours’ notice is given before the scheduled Dog Training Evaluation. This ensures smooth planning and keeps everything running efficiently. Any late cancellation or late reschedule will be charged at the deposit rate, and the deposit will not be refunded. This policy prevents last‑minute disruptions and maintains the smooth operation of BigpawsSmallpawsOutdoors. 1. Evaluation Requirement All new training clients must complete a Dog Training Evaluation before booking any training services. This ensures your dog’s behaviour, routines, environment, and goals are fully understood before a training plan is created. 2. Behaviour, Safety & Management I work with dogs of all behaviour levels, and the evaluation is designed to assess your dog’s behaviour, safety, management, and environment. If your dog shows behaviour that requires a different approach, I’ll adjust the structure to keep everyone safe while still gathering the information needed. If a situation becomes unsafe, I’ll pause that part and explain the training or management changes required. The evaluation itself identifies these needs and sets the best way forward. 3. Service Scope A Dog Training Evaluation is the first step in building a tailored training plan. It covers your dog’s behaviour, routines, triggers, environment, and any challenges you’re experiencing. You’ll receive a full breakdown of observations, notes, and recommendations. Evaluations do not replace full training sessions unless arranged separately. 4. Payments A £20 deposit is required to secure your evaluation. The remaining balance is due the day before. Late cancellations or missed evaluations are charged at the deposit rate, and the deposit is not refunded. If rebooking, the process starts again and a new £20 deposit is required. 5. Environment & Access Clients must ensure safe access to the property and provide any necessary instructions for entry, alarms, gates, or equipment. Unsafe environments may result in the evaluation being paused or cancelled. 6. Safety During Evaluations Safety is always the priority. Evaluations include secure equipment checks, controlled handling, structured observation, and close monitoring of body language. Dogs must wear secure collars or harnesses and be up‑to‑date with vaccinations.
